Unfortunately, we've had quite a few days of rain. It is the rainy season. I hate to complain, but after the blog is updated and all the clothes are washed a folded I was kind of at a loss on what to do. It's really crumby to be stuck in an apartment when you're in paradise :). So, here is my ongoing rainy day project. A quilt! I've never quilted, but it seems pretty straight forward, and quilting is all done by hand - no sewing machine required. Quilting is a craft that was introduced to Hawaii by the missionaries who settled on the island. The Hawaiians really adopted the craft as their own and created a whole series of patterns inspired by the island. I bought this pattern at the Bishop Museum - 'Angle's Trumpet'. So I bought some fabric and have been working on this small blanket when I'm stuck indoors. When Matthew was around and we still faced rain we went to the movies, went out to eat, anything to get out of the humid apartment. And we took care of business: exchanged our rental car, went grocery shopping, and bought a used surf board for the apartment!
