So, if you have been paying attention to the blog you know that my intent was to create 100 cups this semester. And 100 cups I have. I'm just way behind on my posts, and there have been a couple of minor setbacks along the way... but hopefully I'll have the rest all posted here in the next few weeks.

Resist etching, white slip. Rich Blue, brushed. Red Gas Kiln, Reduction fired 3-26-10. Resist etching is a way of making designs and markings on greenware. Wax is applied to a greenware piece. Then a wet sponge is used to remove then layers of clay from the areas not sealed in wax. The wax burns off in bisque firing. I experimented alot with this method in later pieces using a more refined clay. It was not as successful on the stoneware.
