Art 399: 25 Stoneware Cups, sans surface

Just a quick sneak peak at the ceramic project I'm working on this semester.  I'm taking an independent study course exploring slips, gazing, and surface design in general.  I'll be testing these methods on cups!  or a cylindrical form.  Hopefully a total of 75 cups will be made throughout the semester, 25 each of 3 different clay bodies.

I've completed 25 cups in a high-fire stoneware.  This was my first time working with a high-fire clay.   About half of these forms have been bisque fired (which means fired once to cone 6 in the Bailey kiln).  Some surface designs require bisque firing (glazes in general) while slips are applied to greenware (unfired clay).

The possibilities for these cups are endless and I'm a bit apprehensive about what comes next because it is completely new territory.  I begin tomorrow!
